Whopper Ploppers are one of the easiest lures to fish for two reasons.
1. The most effective way to fish them is simply reeling them in a straight retrieve the way you would fish any prop bait. The motion of the bait gliding across the surface is what creates the tail to spin and make the “plopping” noise.
2. You don’t need to carefully detect bites. This is a topwater so you will see and hear most of the strikes you get. And yes sometimes even topwater bites can be silent but you should also hear the “plopping” noise suddenly stop.

Brilliant lure ! I find these pikes very much attracted to the brighter lures ..
They say bigger the lure bigger the fish. This lure isn't that big but certainly caught the interest of a large pike for sure .

For the money, these are a fantastic deal! Caught a tonne of fish with them, super easy to use too. Will buy a few more.
I got these not expecting them to be nearly as good as a true whopper popper. If they aren't, then I can't tell. First cast, a strike. Second cast, another strike. Fifth cast, another. They work. They work well. Almost too well.
They werent as long as I thought they would be, so I was concerned if too light, they would be awkward to cast,....but that has not been the case. Ive used one for a few months and bright and colorful finish on lure has so far held up well,as well as the plop ploper mechanism and it comes thru the water just a sputterin'. Several of these lures for the price I paid cmpared to high tone retail.....its a killer deal. I gifted two away!! good luck
